ADDITIVES PREVENT CORROSION OF ZINC IN SULFUROUS ACID

SULFUROUS ACID, A COMMON ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTANT, SEVERELY CORRODES PURE ZINC. HOWEVER, WHEN SULFUROUS ACID CONTAINS VARIOUS CONCENTRATIONS OF CERTAIN ADDITIVES OR ADDITIVE COMBINATIONS, ZINC CAN BE ALMOST 100 PERCENT PROTECTED FROM CORROSION. RESULTS OF TESTING ON VARIOUS ADDITIVES ARE REPORTED HERE. /AUTHOR/
