Artistic Decorations Adorn the Recently Opened Citytunnel in Malmo, Sweden

Malmo, Sweden's new Citytunnel rail system features artwork at three stations (Malmo C Nedre, Triangeln Station, and Hyllie Station). Four different artists created the works on the 17 km rail line, which started revenue generating service on December 12, 2010. Themes include: time; everyday life; passenger movement; and the relationships between trains, traveling, and the movies. The art was made possible by a partnership between the National Public Art Council, Sweden; the Malmo Beautification Association; the Citytunnel Project; and the City of Malmo.
