SIGN STRIPPER IS NO BEAUTY BUT IT WORKS

THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES A MACHINE THAT STRIPS THE PAINT OFF OLD SIGN FACES. THE MACHINE, INVENTED AND USED BY THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, IS POWERED BY AIR MOTORS. ITS BASIC UNIT IS MADE UP OF A RECIPROCATING HEAD WHICH CARRIES TWO BLASTING TIPS, A SOFT BRISTLE SCRUBBING HEAD SYSTEM, TWO CLEAR WATER RINSES AND A 50 INCH CONVEYOR BELT. THE MACHINE HAS FAR GREATER EFFICIENCY THAN MANUAL STRIPPING.
