DIAGNOSTICO DEL TRANSPORTE DE CARGA AEREA EN MEXICO
Los objetivos de este estudio son: identificar el comportamiento del movimiento de carga aerea en Mexico; realizar proyecciones y desarrollar modelos matematicos para estimar el comportamiento futuro de los flujos de carga aerea en los principales aeropuertos nacionales, y; representar la informacion pertinente en un sistema de informacion geografica (SIG). La aportacion del trabajo consiste en generar conocimiento objetivo con base en informacion de campo y estadistica; y mediante la aplicacion de modelos matematicos y de SIG, para tener un solido sustento analitico en el diagnostico. Tambien, en este documento, en donde se ilustran los detalles mediante tablas y figuras, se establecen algunos lineamientos estrategicos para la desconcentracion del transporte aereo de carga en el sistema aeroportuario nacional. Algunos resultados relevantes: Los flujos de comercio exterior se mantendran como el principal rubro de la carga aerea en Mexico y como el pilar de su reactivacion; y en la mayoria de los aeropuertos nacionales la infraestructura para los servicios de carga aerea esta subutilizada. Una linea de investigacion abierta es la determinacion de las razones y particularidades que han propiciado una notable falta de movimientos de carga aerea de comercio exterior en las ciudades de la frontera norte. Abstract: The objectives of this study are: to identify the behavior of the air cargo flows in Mexico; to perform projections and develop mathematical models for estimating the future behavior of the air cargo flows in the main Mexican airports, and; to represent the pertinent information in a geographical information system (GIS).The contribution of the work consists on generating objective knowledge based on interviews, statistical information, mathematical models and GIS, in order to have a solid analytic support in the diagnosis. Also, in this document, where the details are illustrated using tables and figures, some strategic guidelines for the decentralization of the air cargo activity in the Mexican airport system are established. Some prominent results of this work: The flows of international trade will stay as the main item of the air cargo in Mexico and as the main support of the reactivation of this activity; and it was observed that the infrastructure for air cargo services in the great majority of the Mexican airports was under-utilized. An open line of research is about the reasons and particularities that have propitiated a notable lack of air cargo flows of international trade in the Mexican cities located in the northern border.
