INFORMATION IS INCLUDED ON THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF REDUCING HIGHWAY CRASHES, DEATHS, AND INJURIES. ACCIDENT AND INJURY STATISTICS, A LIST OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS, THE DEGREE OF THEIR OBSERVANCE, A SUMMARY OF RESEARCH GRANTS AND CONTRACTS, AN EVALUATION AND ANALYSIS OF RESEARCH, AND THE EXTENT TO WHICH TECHNICAL INFORMATION HAS BEEN DISSEMINATED ARE REPORTED, AS THE LAW REQUIRES. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE CRASH SURVIVABILITY, SAFETY DESIGN AND DEVICES, THE NATIONAL DRIVER REGISTER. /HSL/
