WINTER PROBLEMS (IN FRENCH)
THE EQUIPMENT FOR A CAR ON ICY OR SNOW-COVERED ROADS IS PRESENTED. TIRES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR. THE USE OF STUDS OF SPIKES IS RECOMMENDED, AND THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF DRIVING WHEN USING STUDDED TIRES ARE DISCUSSED. THREE TYPES OF STUD ARE ILLUSTRATED, (1) STUDS WITH A CYLINDRICAL HEAD AND SINGLE FLANGE, (2) STUDS WITH TUBULAR POINT AND TREBLE SANDVIK FLANGES, AND (3) PYRAMIDAL STUDS FOR VERY DIFFICULT TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. /LCPC/SETRA-ONSER/RRL/
