MOVEMENT OF FREIGHT BY SEA IN THE CANADIAN ARCTIC

The carriage of goods into, out of, and through the Canadian Arctic is, at present, expensive and difficult. The nature of the terrain, the rigours of the climate, the persistence of sea ice, the short shipping season, the lack of established ports and the degree of stupidity we have managed to apply to the problem are the principal limiting factors.
