RESULTS OBTAINED IN THE U.S.A. SHOW THAT, BY COATING STEEL BAR REINFORCEMENT WITH ZINC, NICKEL OR AN EPOXY-RESIN BITUMEN MIXTURE, IT IS POSSIBLE TO REDUCE THE CORROSION OF THE REINFORCEMENT IN CONCRETE ENGINEERING STRUCTURES.
