BASED ON DETAILED ANALYSES OF CURRENT KNOWLEDGE AND THE ATTITUDES OF PARENTS ON THE WAYS IN WHICH CHILDREN SHOULD BE ABLE TO COPE WITH TRAFFIC, A MODEL IS TO BE DEVELOPED FOR A TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN NOT YET AT SCHOOL, WHICH IS STRUCTURED ACCORDING TO THE THEORY OF LEARNING, TAKES ACCOUNT OF A CHILD'S STATE OF DEVELOPMENT, AND FACILITATES CONTROL OF SUCCESS BY THE PARENTS. IN ADDITION A TRAFFIC TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR THE PARENTS OF SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN IN THE FIRST GRADE IS TO BE DEVELOPED, WHICH IS TO BE DIRECTED TO THE LEARNING ABILITY OF FIRST GRADE CHILDREN AND IS TO SUPPLEMENT SCHOOL EDUCATION. THE NEXT STAGE IS TO DEVELOP A QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANALYSE THE ATTITUDES OF THE PARENTS OF 3 - 7 YEAR OLD CHILDREN. 90 MOTHERS ARE TO BE QUESTIONED FOR EACH AGE GROUP. THE SAMPLE WILL BE BALANCED ACCORDING TO SOCIAL FACTORS AND SEX OF THE CHILDREN.
