DEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD FOR CALCULATING TUNNEL LIGHTING TAKING ACCOUNT OF NATURAL LIGHTING BY CLEAR OR CLOUDED SKY

THE OBJECT OF THE WORK IS TO PRODUCE PRACTICAL PLANNING DOCUMENTS FOR THE CALCULATION OF COMPLETE TUNNEL LIGHTING INSTALLATIONS SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF KNOWLEDGE OF LOCAL GEOGRAPHICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL FACTORS. STATE OF THE WORK: AFTER DERIVATION OF BASIC EQUATIONS, DIFFERENT METHODS OF NUMERICAL INTEGRATION OF THE LUMINANCE DISTRIBUTION OF THE CLEAR SKY FOR DETERMINATION OF THE HORIZONTAL LIGHT INTENSITY RELATED TO ZENITH LUMINANCE WERE EXAMINED. IT WAS SHOWN THAT THE SQUARE FORMULAE WITH NON-EQUIDISTANT SUPPORT POINTS ARE FAR SUPERIOR TO THOSE WITH EQUIDISTANT SUPPORT POINTS. BY THE ADAPTIVE APPLICATION OF GAUSS SQUARES IT WAS POSSIBLE TO EFFECT A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN THE CALCULATION TIME NEEDED FOR INTEGRATION, AND SIMULTANEOUSLY IMPROVE ACCURACY.
