THE CONFERENCE DEALT WITH SAFETY AND STRENGTH PROBLEMS IN BUSES AND WITH GENERAL QUESTIONS RELATING TO THEIR OPERATION AND DESIGN. THE FOLLOWING ARE MENTIONED: (1) STUDIES FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF MEASURES TO AVOID OVERTURNING; (2) ACCIDENT ANALYSES AND EXPERIMENTS REGARDING THE DYNAMICS OF OVERTURNING AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF BUSES; (3) IMPROVEMENTS IN THE ABSORPTION OF FRONTAL IMPACT BASED ON THE FREQUENCY OF FRONTAL COLLISIONS; (4) EXAMINATIONS INVOLVING VIBRATING MODELS AIMED AT THE MORE ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF OPERATIONAL CONDITIONS; (5) DURABILITY CALCULATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS OF BUSES CARRIED OUT WITH THE AID OF PLANNED PROGRESSIONS BASED ON THE FINITE-ELEMENT-METHOD; (6) STRENGTH PROBLEMS ARISING IN THE CASE OF SINGLE DECK CITY BUSES; (7) THE DEVELOPMENT OF MATHEMATICAL STRENGTH MODELS.
