THE ANALYSIS OF TUNNEL TUBES AS ELASTICALLY BEDDED HOLLOW BEAMS

IN THE STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF TUNNEL TUBES THEY ARE TREATED AS ELASTICALLY BEDDED UNITS. STATICALLY INDETERMINATE FRAME SYSTEMS ARE SUBJECTED TO SOLUTION BY DEFORMATION ENERGY METHODS AND TO A LESSER EXTENT BY FORCE ENERGY METHODS BECAUSE OF THE LOW NUMBER OF UNKNOWN FACTORS. BASED ON THE FUNDAMENTAL EQUATION FOR ELASTICALLY BEDDED RODS, A HOMOGENEOUS SOLUTION IS DEVELOPED FOR THE ANALYSIS OF A TUNNEL TUBE INCLUDING THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF THE BASIC EQUATIONS AND THE SETTING UP OF THE STATICAL EQUATION SYSTEM. TABULAR NUMERICAL EXAMPLES FOR THE SYSTEM OF EQUATIONS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF TWIN HOLLOW SECTIONS ARE PRESENTED AS WELL AS GRAPHICAL ILLUSTRATION OF THE SYSTEM AND ITS RANGE, IN ADDITION TO MOMENT AREAS AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF SOIL PRESSURE.
