A TECHNIQUE FOR CHECKING THE STABILITY OF PLANE REINFORCED CONCRETE FRAMES IS DEVELOPED IN A FORM SUITABLE FOR COMPUTER USE. DEFORMATION CALCULATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEORY 11, USING THE LAWS OF MATERIALS FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE CAN BE CARRIED OUT BOTH EXACTLY AND APPROXIMATELY. THE TECHNIQUE IS COMPARED WITH OTHER POSSIBILITIES. EXAMPLES SHOW THAT THE STRESSES OF ALL BAR SYSTEMS CAN SIMULTANEOUSLY BE OBTAINED. STIFFNESS RESERVES CAN BE DEALT WITH. MORE ECONOMICAL REINFORCEMENT IS POSSIBLE. LONG TERM INFLUENCES AND THE PROBLEM OF IMPERFECTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT.
