THE STRESS CONDITION IN BRIDGE DECKS WITH T-BEAMS OR HOLLOW BOX SECTIONS RESULTING FROM PRESTRESSING FORCES CONCENTRATED IN THE ANCHORAGE IN THE CENTROID OF THE END CROSS SECTION

SPANNUNGSZUSTAND IN DEN PLATTEN VON BRUECKEN MIT PLATTENBALKEN- ODER KASTENQUERSCHNITT INFOLGE DER VERANKERUNG KONZENTRIERTER VORSPANNKRAEFTE IM SCHWERPUNKT DER ENDQUERSCHNITTE

IN ORDER TO OBTAIN DATA FOR THE DESIGN OF THE TRANSVERSE REINFORCEMENT NECESSARY FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF PRESTRESSING FORCES IN THE SLAB, THE AUTHOR HAS CARRIED OUT INVESTIGATIONS USING THE METHOD OF FINITE ELEMENTS, WHICH ARE PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR THE ANALYSIS OF PLANE STRUCTURES WITH COMPLICATED BOUNDARY CONDITIONS. THE TWO SPAN BEAM AND SLAB BRIDGE WAS TREATED AS A SLAB AND THE BENDING EFFECT IGNORED, SO THAT THE PRESTRESSING FORCE WAS APPLIED AT THE CENTROID OF THE TOTAL CROSS SECTION. THE RESULT WAS EXPRESSED DIAGRAMATICALLY AND THUS THE PATTERN AND VALUES OF THE PRINCIPAL STRESSES CAN BE OBTAINED FOR A CHARACTERISTIC CASE.
