USE OF THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR THE DYNAMIC CALCULATION OF STRUCTURES

THE OBJECT OF THE STUDY IS TO EXAMINE WHETHER AND HOW THE COMPUTER PROGRAMS WHICH ARE USED IN AIR TRAVEL AND SPACE TRAVEL INDUSTRIES FOR THE DYNAMIC CALCULATION OF SATELLITE, ROCKET AND SIMILAR STRUCTURES CAN BE USED TO SOLVE TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION PROBLEMS OF VIBRATION. FIRSTLY, A LIST OF THE SPECIFICATIONS AND CALCULATION METHODS USED IN CONSTRUCTION IS PREPARED FROM WHICH A LIST OF POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS IS THEN DERIVED. THE DORNIER PROGRAM SYSTEM COSA IS USED FOR THE DYNAMIC CALCULATION OF A SKYSCRAPER UNDER THE EFFECT OF WIND GUSTS. THE RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH A STATIC CALCULATION. IN ADDITION IT IS SHOWN HOW THE RESULTS CAN BE USED FOR DETERMINING REALISTIC VIBRATIONAL COEFFICIENTS FOR SEMI-STATIC CALCULATIONS AND FOR ESTIMATING THE EFFECT OF VIBRATIONS ON PEOPLE.
