IN THIS RESEARCH PROGRAMME THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT PARAMETERS ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF CONCRETE WITH JOINT-FACE LOADING IS SYSTEMATICALLY STUDIED. ALL THE APPROXIMATELY 100 TEST SPECIMENS ENVISAGED IN THE WORK PLANS OF THE 2 PARTS OF THE RESEARCH PROGRAM HAVE ALREADY BEEN TESTED. AN ELABORATE SERIES OF TESTS WAS USED FOR STUDYING DIFFERENT FORMS OF (SLOT) TENSILE REINFORCEMENT USING THE SAME AMOUNT OF STEEL. ONE WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE THE SPIRAL REINFORCEMENTS NORMALLY USED IN TENSION MEMBER TIES BY OTHER FORMS OF REINFORCEMENT WHICH MIGHT BE BUILT IN MORE EASILY AND PARTICULARLY AFTER ASSEMBLING THE TENSION MEMBERS. APART FROM THE SPIRALS, REINFORCING GRIDS AND LOOP-SHAPED REINFORCEMENTS ARE THEREFORE ALSO STUDIED.
