METHODS FOR CALCULATING THE ENERGY-EQUIVALENT CONTINUOUS SOUND LEVELS OF NOISE IN SHORT ROAD SECTIONS

METHODEN ZUR BERECHNUNG DES ENERGIEAEQUIVALENTEN DAUERSCHALLPEGELS DES LAERMES VON KURZEN STRASSENSTUECKEN

STARTING FROM THE CALCULATION OF THE ENERGY-EQUIVALENT CONTINUOUS NOISE LEVEL L (M) (FROM DIN 45641) FOR THE TRAFFIC NOISE FROM STRAIGHT, CONTINUOUS LONG ROADS THE TOPOGRAPHICAL AND TRAFFIC CHARACTERISTICS OF WHICH ARE CONSIDERED HOMOGENOUS, A METHOD WAS DEVELOPED FOR CALCULATING THE L (M) VALUE FOR A GIVEN LENGTH OF ROADS. FOR THIS PURPOSE A SELECTED STREET IS DIVIDED INTO SECTIONS, EACH CONSIDERED STRAIGHT AND HAVING HOMOGENOUS TOPOGRAPHICAL AND TRAFFIC CHARACTERISTICS. FOR EACH SINGLE SECTION THE L (M) VALUE IS SPECIFICALLY CALCULATED AND THE SINGLE VALUES ADDED TO PROVIDE THE ENERGY EQUIVALENT NOISE LEVELS FOR THE WHOLE STREET. THE DEVELOPED CALCULATION METHODS ARE ALSO APPLICABLE TO CURVED ROADS.
