BECAUSE OF PROGRESS IN PREFABRICATION TECHNOLOGY AND OPERATIONS, PREFABRICATED SYSTEMS ARE BEING DEVELOPED WHICH, PARTICULARLY FOR INDIVIDUAL OR SERIES CONSTRUCTION IN STEEL ENGINEERING, PROMISE GREATER ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY THAN CURRENT, CONVENTIONAL WORKSHOP PREFABRICATION WHICH REQUIRES A HIGH NUMBER OF PERSONNEL. SINCE MARKEDLY AUTOMATED PREFABRICATION SYSTEMS REQUIRE SUCH A HIGH INVESTMENT THAT THEY COULD ONLY BRING ABOUT SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGES BY BEING WELL ADAPTED TO THE PROBLEMS OF PREFABRICATION AND BY BEING SUFFICIENTLY FLEXIBLE, PREFABRICATION SYSTEMS FOR STEEL ENGINEERING ARE TO BE DEVELOPED AND OPTIMIZED BY MEANS OF SIMULATION ON A LARGE COMPUTER. THE SYSTEM IS TO COMPRISE THE WHOLE PROCESS OF PREFABRICATION FROM THE RAW MATERIAL STORE TO THE FINAL COATING. PLAN OF WORK: TO DEVELOP A LANGUAGE FOR STEEL ENGINEERING MATERIALS; TO DETERMINE MATERIAL (PARTIAL SPECTRUM); DETERMINATION OF THE WORK REQUIREMENTS OF THE PARTIAL SPECTRUM ON THE BASIS OF QUANTITATIVE FEATURES, TYPE, GEOMETRIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE MATERIALS; COLLECTION OF SUITABLE WORKING FACILITIES, STORAGE AND TRANSPORT FACILITIES FOR ALTERNATIVE PREFABRICATION SYSTEMS; SELECTION OF THE OPTIMUM PREFABRICATION SYSTEM.
