IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE EFFECT OF A CURING AGENT ON THE SKIDDING RESISTANCE OF ROAD CONCRETE, IT IS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT PRELIMINARY LABORATORY TESTS. TO FIND A SUITABLE TEST PROCEDURE, ABOUT 10 COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE CURING AGENTS ARE BEING USED ON DIFFERENT SUBSTANCES (FINE CONCRETE, SAND PAPER, SHEET METAL). THE ROUGHNESS OF THE RESULTING SURFACES IS BEING DETERMINED WITH THE ENGLISH PENDULUM EQUIPMENT (SKID RESISTANCE TESTER). THE SUITABILITY OF THE PENDULUM EQUIPMENT FOR EVALUATING CHANGES IN SKIDDING RESISTANCE DUE TO CURING AGENTS IS TO BE ESTABLISHED.
