THE INFLUENCE OF CRUSHED STONE AGGREGATES ON THE STABILITY OF ASPHALT ROADBASE MATERIAL

DER EINFLUSS VON BRECHKORNZUSAETZEN AUF DIE STABILITAET VON ASPHALTTRAGSCHICHTMATERIAL

DENSITY, POROSITY AS WELL AS MARSHALL STABILITY AND FLOW VALUES OF ROADBASE MIXES OF VARIOUS COMPOSITIONS WERE STUDIED. THE CRUSHED STONE PROPORTION VARIED FROM 0 - 100% BY WEIGHT AND PARTICLE SIZE RANGED BETWEEN 2 AND 32 MM. SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE MIXES WITH CRUSHED STONE AGGREGATES DID NOT APPEAR. THE QUESTION OF THE DIFFERING EVALUATION OF ROUNDED AGGREGATES AND CRUSHED AGGREGATES IN RELATION TO THE THICKNESS DIMENSION OF ROADBASES IS DISCUSSED.
