ROAD TRAFFIC NOISE AT JUNCTIONS HAVING BUILT-UP BOUNDARIES

DER STRASSENVERKEHRSLAERM AN KREUZUNGEN MIT RANDBEBAUUNG

PREVIOUS METHODS OF CALCULATING ROAD TRAFFIC NOISE CANNOT BE APPLIED TO JUNCTIONS. NOISE MEASUREMENTS AT JUNCTIONS HAVE TO BE CARRIED OUT TO FORM THE BASIS OF NEW METHODS OF CALCULATION. IN PARTICULAR THE FOLLOWING ARE TO BE DETERMINED: INFLUENCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON MEAN LEVEL OF ROAD NOISE, INFLUENCE OF REFLECTION FROM BUILT-UP BOUNDARIES AND SPREADING OF NOISE FROM THE JUNCTION INTO NEIGHBOURING STREETS. THE STUDY WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN SITU AND SUPPLEMENTED BY MODEL TESTS.
