THE NOISE EMISSION FROM THE TELTOMAT TYPE V-S IS CONSIDERABLE, SO THAT IN DENSELY BUILT-UP AREAS CONSIDERABLE ATTENTION MUST BE GIVEN TO THE ARRANGEMENT OF THE PLANT. IN ADDITION TO MOBILE PLANT SUCH AS SPECIAL TRUCKS AND BULLDOZERS, A SERIES OF STATIONARY NOISE SOURCES CONTRIBUTES TO A HIGH NOISE LEVEL. FROM A COMPARISON OF THE NOISE LEVELS MEASURED AT THE PLANT, WITH THE MAXIMUM LEGALLY PRESCRIBED LEVELS, RECOMMENDED DISTANCES FOR THE LOCATION OF THE PLANTS FROM BUILDINGS ARE DERIVED. STARTING POINTS FOR THE REDUCTION OF NOISE ABATEMENT ARE SHOWN, WHICH LEAD TO THE LOWER MINIMUM SPACINGS THAN THOSE WHICH HAVE BEEN SET UP.
