CONCRETE ROAD SURFACES MUST STILL BE SKID-RESISTANT WHEN THE TOP LAYER OF MORTAR HAS BEEN WORN AWAY. IT IS NOT YET POSSIBLE TO SELECT AGGREGATES FOR CONCRETE IN SUCH A WAY THAT SUFFICIENT SKIDDING RESISTANCE OF THE SURFACE IS GUARANTEED. THE OBJECT OF THE STUDIES IS TO FIND AGGREGATES AND CONCRETE COMPOSITIONS WHICH ARE HIGHLY LIKELY TO PROVIDE SKID-RESISTANT SURFACINGS. CONCRETES VARYING IN MIX DESIGN ARE TO BE LAID IN THE INTERNAL DRUM TEST RIG, AND ANY MODIFICATION TO THEIR SKIDDING RESISTANCE IS TO BE MEASURED.
