QUALITY OF ROAD SURFACES WHICH CAN BE ATTAINED

ERFAHRUNGSSAMMLUNG UEBER DIE ERREICHBARE QUALITAET VON STRASSENOBERFLAECHEN

IT IS INTENDED TO COLLECT DATA ON THE ATTAINABLE QUALITY OF ROAD SURFACE COURSES IN RELATION TO SURFACE PROPERTIES. THE DATA COLLECTION IS CONCERNED FIRSTLY WITH SECTIONS OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE. ON REBUILT, EXTENDED, AND NEWLY CONSTRUCTED SECTIONS THE ROAD SURFACE IS BEING EXAMINED AFTER THE ROAD HAS BEEN OPENED TO TRAFFIC, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO EVENNESS IN THE LONGITUDINAL AND TRANSVERSE DIRECTION AND TO SKIDDING RESISTANCE. THE STUDY WILL INVOLVE THE USE OF THE PLANOGRAPH, THE SLOPE METER, THE STUTTGART FRICTION METER, THE SKIDDING RESISTANCE TESTING EQUIPMENT, AND THE FLOW METER. THE DATA COLLECTED WILL BE EVALUATED BY COMPUTER. IF IT SHOULD BE THOUGHT ADVISABLE TO DETERMINE THE ATTAINABLE QUALITY OF GUSSASPHALT AND CONCRETE SURFACINGS IN A SIMILAR WAY, THE STUDY WILL BE EXTENDED.
