THE AIM OF THE RESEARCH IS TO SHOW THAT THE CURRENT CONCEPTION OF CONTROL, WHICH BASICALLY ONLY GUARANTEES A STEADY FLOW OF INDIVIDUAL TRANSPORT, IS NOT THE OPERATIONAL OPTIMUM. IT IS MUCH MORE LIKELY THAT THE TOTAL JOURNEY TIME OF ALL ROAD USERS COULD BE CONSIDERABLY REDUCED, AND VEHICLE-ACTUATED CONTROL OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT COULD CONTRIBUTE SIGNIFICANTLY TO THIS. A CONCEPT OF A TOTAL OPERATIONAL OPTIMIZATION IS TO BE WORKED OUT. THE SUM OF ALL WAITING TIMES (PERSON HOURS), THE SUM OF ALL OPERATING COSTS, AND VALUES FOR NOISE AND EXHAUST GAS NUISANCE HAVE TO BE STUDIED. IN THE STUDY OF EXPERIMENTAL SECTIONS OF ROAD COST BENEFIT AND COST EFFICIENCY ANALYSES ARE TO BE CARRIED OUT.
