MEASURES TO INFLUENCE TRAFFIC AS PART OF THE GERMAN CORRIDOR EXPERIMENT

VERKEHRSBEEINFLUSSENDE MASSNAHMEN IM RAHMEN DES DEUTSCHEN KORRIDOREXPERIMENTS

STARTING FROM ACTIVITIES OF THE OECD ROAD RESEARCH PROGRAMME WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE SO-CALLED CORRIDOR CONTROL, AND TAKING ACCOUNT OF PROJECTS WHICH ARE CURRENTLY BEING UNDERTAKEN OR ABOUT TO BE UNDERTAKEN IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY, POSSIBILITIES OF INFLUENCING TRAFFIC FOR THE AREA BETWEEN THE MOTORWAY CROSSES OF DARMSTADT AND WALLDORF ARE TO BE EXAMINED AND REALIZED AFTER THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CONTROL STRATEGY. THE WORK TAKES ACCOUNT OF THE RESULTS OF A PRELIMINARY STUDY, WHICH WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE RESEARCH PROJECT NO. 3.704 LED TO THE WORKING OUT OF AN ALTERNATIVE CONTROL CONCEPT FOR THE SAID STUDY AREA IN THE MOTORWAY NETWORK. THESE PRELIMINARY STUDIES LEAD ONE TO EXPECT AN ECONOMICAL REALIZATION OF A FLEXIBLE OPERATIONAL SYSTEM. THE ECONOMIC VIABILITY IS ALSO TO BE ESTIMATED IN THIS PROJECT; PROPOSALS FOR THE BEFORE AND AFTER STUDIES WHICH ARE NECESSARY FOR PROOF OF THIS ARE TO COMPLETE THE WORK.
