STUDY OF THE EVOLUTION IN THE SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS OF SURFACINGS

ETUDE DE L'EVOLUTION DES CARACTERISTIQUES DE SURFACE DES REVETEMENTS

STUDY, DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF RAPID METHODS OF DESTRUCTIVE OR NON DESTRUCTIVE, CONTINUOUS OR NON- CONTINUOUS MEASUREMENT OF ROAD SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS IN ORDER TO: - GIVE LARGE-SCALE ASSESSMENTS OF SAFETY, COMFORT AND DURABILITY: STRESS THE FACTORS WHICH INFLUENCE THE EVOLUTION OF SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS; AND ESTABLISH, IF THEY EXIST, CORRELATIONS BETWEEN CHARACTERISTICS CONSIDERED INDEPENDENT UP TO NOW. THE BIBLIOGRAPHY IS BEING COMPLETED. AT THE PRESENT TIME, THE MAIN DEVELOPMENT OF THE RESEARCH IS THE STUDY OF THE LONGITUDINAL PROFILE BY MEANS OF THE LONGITUDINAL PROFILE ANALYZER OF THE LABORATOIRE CENTRAL DES PONTS ET CHAUSSEES (FRANCE). AN ANALYSIS USING 4 RANGES OF WAVE LENGTHS DISTRIBUTED ON THE INTERVAL OF 1 TO 40M WAS CONDUCTED ON A SAMPLE REPRESENTATIVE OF APPROXIMATELY 1000 KM OF MOTORWAY.
