PRIORITY RATINGS 1975 - CRITERION ROAD SAFETY PART 2

DRINGLICHKEITSREIHUNG 1975, KRITERIUM VERKEHRSSICHERHEIT. 2. TEIL.

WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EVALUATION OF THE PRIORITY OF HIGHER GRADE AUSTRIAN HIGHWAY NETWORKS, ROAD SAFETY IS ALSO CONSIDERED. FOR THIS PURPOSE COMPARISONS BETWEEN OBSERVED AND PREDICTED ROAD SAFETY DATA ARE USED. TO QUANTIFY THE CONSTRUCTIONAL AND TRANSPORTATION MEASURES WITH RESPECT TO ROAD SAFETY THE RELATIVE ACCIDENT FACTOR IS USED AND, FOR STATISTICAL REASONS, ONLY PERSONAL INJURY IS INCLUDED. THE PREDICTION VALUE CAN BE REPRESENTED AS A LINEAR FUNCTION OF THE DTV. THREE CRITERIA ARE USED. THE FIRST TWO ARE INDEPENDENT OF TRAFFIC INTENSITY AND ARE FORMED FROM QUOTIENTS OR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN OBSERVED AND PREDICTED DATA. THE THIRD CRITERIA MAKES USE OF DIFFERENCES SIMILARLY BUT TAKES THE INCREASE IN TRAFFIC VOLUME INTO ACCOUNT. A COMBINED CRITERION FOR ROAD SAFETY IS OBTAINED BY A FACTORIAL ANALYSIS FROM THE THREE SINGLE CRITERIA. AN EVALUATION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SECTIONS FOR 1996 IS REPRESENTED ON CHARTS.
