PLANT RESPONSE TO NITROGEN FROM THREE SLOW RELEASE FERTILIZERS - INTERIM REPORT

THE RESULTS OF INITIAL STUDIES SUGGEST THAT THE USE OF SLOW-RELEASE NITROGEN FERTILIZERS MAY BE OF SOME BENEFIT AS A NUTRIENT SOURCE FOR HIGHWAY LANDSCAPE PLANTS. HOWEVER, THE GROWTH AND NITROGEN UPTAKE RESPONSE WAS SO LIMITED THAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SHOULD BE OBTAINED ON RATES, PLACEMENT, LONGEVITY, AND TOTAL EFFFECTS ON PLANT HARDINESS. /AUTHOR/
