A STUDY IS TO BE MADE OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SAFETY BELTS ON DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SEATS IN COMMERCIAL VEHICLES, THE STUDY BEING FOCUSSED ON INTEGRATED BELT SYSTEMS. A LONG DISTANCE ROAD TRAIN FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CABIN IS BEING BUILT ON THE BATTELLE CATAPULT FACILITY FOR THE TESTS. FOR COMPARISON, IN ADDITION THE SILHOUETTE OF A TOURING BUS AND A LIGHT LORRY IS TO BE INCLUDED. FRONTAL IMPACT TESTS ARE BEING CARRIED OUT AT 50 KM/H. A DECELERATION COEFFICIENT HAS TO BE DETERMINED FOR THE DIFFERENT VEHICLES. RESTRAINT SYSTEMS PROVEN GOOD ARE TO BE RANDOMLY TESTED IN A DRIVING TASK.
