THE FOLLOWING SECTION DEALING WITH THE PRACTICAL POSSIBILITIES OF EXPLAINING TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, ACCIDENT PHOTOGRAPHS, THE WORK OF EXPERTS, TRAFFIC DEMONSTRATIONS, AND THE WORK OF TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSIONS ARE REVIEWED. IN ADDITION, VARIOUS EXAMPLES OF THE CLARIFICATION OF ROAD ACCIDENTS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMPROVEMENT TECHNIQUES ARE GIVEN, AS WELL AS THE APPLICATION OF ROAD DESIGN TECHNOLOGY TO THE EXPLANATION OF ACCIDENTS AND OF INTERDISCIPLINARY COOPERATION IN THE ANALYSIS OF EACH ACCIDENT INVOLVING CHILDREN. INTERDISCIPLINARY COOPERATION DOES NOT PROVIDE A RECIPE FOR TOTAL SUCCESS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRAFFIC SAFETY MEASURES. FURTHERMORE, THE USE OF TEAMS OF SPECIALISTS MAY NOT IN FUTURE BE PRACTICAL ON ECONOMIC GROUNDS. EXISTING EXPERTISE IN THE FIELDS OF TECHNOLOGY AND THE HUMAN SCIENCES MUST BE PROCESSED TO AN OPTIMUM DEGREE FOR THE BENEFIT OF PROFESSIONALS. THE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES OF ROAD USERS AND THOSE CONCERNED WITH THE AVOIDANCE OF ACCIDENTS AND THE ELIMINATION OF ACCIDENT BLACK SPOTS SHOULD BE MADE AS WIDELY AVAILABLE AS POSSIBLE.
