DRIVING APTITUDE AFTER A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

FAHRTAUGLICHKEIT NACH VERKEHRSUNFALL

A SELF EXPERIENCED ACCIDENT OR EVEN THE PASSIVE EXPERIENCE OF, FOR EXAMPLE, DRIVING PAST THE SITE OF AN ACCIDENT, HAS A CONSIDERABLE INFLUENCE UPON THE FURTHER DRIVING BEHAVIOUR OF A DRIVER, WHO IS USUALLY AFFECTED IN A NEGATIVE MANNER FROM THE TRAFFIC SAFETY VIEWPOINT. THE CHANGED REACTIONS OF THE DRIVER CONCERNED MAY BE PSYCHOLOGICALLY EXPLAINED AND PSYCHOLOGICAL TREATMENT MAY BE NECESSARY WHEN ABNORMAL BEHAVIOUR REMAINS FOR A LONG PERIOD. SO LONG AS THE EXPERIENCE IS NOT COMPLETELY ASSIMILATED, EFFECTS UPON DRIVING PROFICIENCY AND SAFETY ARE NOTICEABLE.
