THIS COLLECTION IS DESIGNED TO GIVE AN INSIGHT INTO THE PROCEDURES USED BY THE ANALYTICAL CHEMIST TO COLLATE THE SOURCE OF MATERIAL TRACES WHICH RESULT FROM A ROAD ACCIDENT. IN ORDER TO COME TO A USABLE EVALUATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE ANALYSIS IT IS NECESSARY FROM TIME TO TIME TO REVIEW THE APPLIED ANALYSIS PROCEDURES. ACCORDING TO THE INVESTIGATION METHOD IT IS POSSIBLE TO RECOGNISE NUMEROUS INDIVIDUAL QUALITIES OF THE MATERIAL, EVEN IN MASS PRODUCTS, WHICH IN PART ALLOWS THE DIFFERENTIATION OF VARIOUS PRODUCTION CHANGES. FROM A LIST OF MATERIALS PLACED ACCORDING TO FREQUENCY OF OCCURRENCE, PAINT, GLASS AND RUBBER ARE SHOWN TO BE THE FUNDAMENTAL ACCIDENT MATERIAL TRACES. NEXT COMES THE INVESTIGATION INTO FIBRES, SOMETIMES TO PROVE WHO WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME OF AN ACCIDENT WHEN AS THE RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT THE SEATING SITUATION HAS CHANGED, ALSO INVESTIGATIONS MAY BE MADE INTO OIL WHEN THE QUESTION OF CONTACT WITH THE UNDERSIDE OF A VEHICLE IS RAISED IN CONNECTION WITH A VICTIM.
