NEW RESULTS OF AN INVESTIGATION INTO VIBRATION BY A HIGHWAY SIMULATOR

NEUERE ERGEBNISSE BEI SCHWINGUNGSUNTERSUCHUNGEN AN EINEM STRASSEN-SIMULATOR

THE SIMULATION IN QUESTION WAS CARRIED OUT WITH UNDERINFLATED TYRES, SUPPORTED BY A WHEEL PLATE OF SPECIAL FORM. FURTHERMORE THE EFFECTIVE ROAD PROFILE WAS USED AS AN EXCITING SIGNAL. THIS PROCEDURE HAD THE FOLLOWING ADVANTAGES: (1) THE INFLUENCE OF THE NON-ROLLING WHEELS ON THE TYRE STIFFNESS AND DAMPING IS BY-PASSED. (2) THE CALCULATION OF THE EFFECTIVE ROAD PROFILE AUTOMATICALLY ALLOWS FOR THE INFLUENCE OF THE ENVELOPE CURVE OF THE TYRE. (3) THE SIMULATION IS INDEPENDENT OF THE VEHICLE PARAMETERS. (4) THE INVESTIGATION OF THE CORRELATION CAN BE CARRIED OUT WITHOUT DIFFICULTIES, BECAUSE THE EFFECTIVE PROFILE CAN BE MEASURED IN THE SAME TRACK AS THE EXCITED WHEEL. BY THE APPLICATION OF AN ADAPTED UNIFORM RANDOM NOISE ONE CAN CARRY OUT SIMILAR INVESTIGATIONS IN DIFFERENT TEST CENTRES.
