IN THE PAST ONLY SECONDARY IMPORTANCE WAS PAID TO THE WIDTH OF ACCESS ROADS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH SINGLE FAMILY HOUSES. BASED ON THE RELATIONS BETWEEN TRAFFIC, NUMBER OF INHABITANTS, BUILDING PATTERN, FREQUENCY OF OPPOSING TRAFFIC OR TRAFFIC IMPEDANCE, RESPECTIVELY, THE DESIGN OF RESIDENTIAL ROADS IS DETERMINED AFTER ESTABLISHING THE PERMISSIBLE NUMBER OF VEHICLES PASSING EACH OTHER.
