THE OBJECT IS TO CHECK PLANNED SAFETY SPECIFICATIONS WITH RESPECT TO THEIR APPLICATION TO THE COMPLEX AREA OF SCAFFOLDING DESIGN. METHOD OF WORK: ANALYSIS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT STEPS INVOLVED IN THE DESIGN OF SCAFFOLDS AND WORKING OUT OF CORRESPONDING DESIGN EQUATIONS IN THE SENSE OF SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS; WORKING OUT ANALYTICALLY CORRESPONDING SENSITIVITY FACTORS OR, IF IMPOSSIBLE, ESTIMATION OF THESE FROM THE SUMS OF INDIVIDUAL EFFECTS; CALCULATION OF PARTIAL SAFETY COEFFICIENTS USING THESE VALUES CORRESPONDING TO SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS, AND EVALUATION OF THEM WITH RESPECT TO DESIGN PRACTICE HITHERTO.
