THE DYNAMICS OF WHEEL SUSPENSION

DIE DYNAMIK VON RADAUFHAENGUNGEN

THE MOVEMENT EQUATIONS FOR WHEEL SUSPENSIONS MAY BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE METHOD OF MULTIPLE BODY SYSTEMS FOR LARGE NON-LINEAR AND FOR SMALL LINEAR MOVEMENTS. THE SETTING UP OF THE MOVEMENT EQUATIONS IS GREATLY SIMPLIFIED BY A COMPUTER BASED PROCEDURE AND CAN ALSO BE COMPLETELY UNDERTAKEN BY THE COMPUTER. THE VIBRATION RELATIONSHIPS MAY BE DERIVED FROM THE MOVEMENT EQUATIONS. FROM THE SOLUTION FUNCTIONS OR THE FREQUENCY PATTERNS, ONE MAY MAKE PREDICTIONS REGARDING THE DRIVING COMFORT, THE SAFETY AND THE FORCES ARISING FROM STEERING MOVEMENTS. GOVERNING PARAMETERS FOR THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE WHEEL SUSPENSIONS ARE GIVEN FROM THE SPATIAL KINEMATICS, THE MASSES AND THE MOMENTS OF INERTIA, THE SPRING STIFFNESSES AND THE DAMPING CONSTANTS.
