ALTHOUGH OMITTING METHODS FOR STATISTICALLY PROCESSING ACQUIRED DATA, THE ASSESSMENT OF RELEVANT LITERATURE GIVES AN INDICATION OF THE RELATION BETWEEN SUDDEN CHANGES IN PREVAILING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND ACCIDENT FREQUENCY. DUE TO THE DIFFERENTIATION BETWEEN BIOTROPES (AFFECTING THE HUMAN ORGANISM) AND TRIVIAL WEATHER INFLUENCES AND MINOR WEATHER CONDITIONS (AFFECTING VISIBILITY CONDITIONS AND ROAD CONDITIONS), IT COULD BE DEMONSTRATED THAT SENSITIVITY TO WEATHER MAY BE REGARDED AS HAVING A SERIOUS SIGNIFICANCE IN TERMS OF DRIVING BEHAVIOUR. ELECTRIC CONDITIONS AND THE IONIC CLIMATE INSIDE THE CAR REPRESENT A DETERMINING BIOTROPIC INFLUENCE. RESULTS OF EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT WITH AN IONISATOR INDICATE THE POSSIBILITY OF MAINTAINING A FAVOURABLE IONIC CLIMATE IN THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. HOWEVER THE RESULTS OF FURTHER FIELD AND LABORATORY EXPERIMENTS AT PRESENT IN PROGRESS REGARDING THE INFLUENCE OF IONISATORS AND GENERATORS ON ACCIDENT FREQUENCY MUST FIRST BE ASSESSED.
