IN THE NEW VERSION OF DIN 4150 IT WAS SHOWN THAT A SUITABLE CRITERION FOR ASSESSING THE VIBRATIONAL STRESS OF COMPLICATED BUILDING STRUCTURES SUCH AS SKYSCRAPERS (MULTIPLE-STORY (RIGID) FRAMES) ETC. WAS LACKING. NUMERICAL TESTS SHOWED THAT THE SIMPLE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VIBRATING SPEED AND STRESS, FORMULATED BY GASCH CAN ONLY BE USED ON INDIVIDUAL STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS BUT NOT ON ENTIRE BUILDINGS. AN ATTEMPT IS TO BE MADE TO FORMULATE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXCITATION AND STRESSING OF THE BUILDING AND TO FIND THE SIMPLEST POSSIBLE METHOD OF ASSESSMENT USABLE IN PRACTICE FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF BUILDING (CONVENTIONAL DWELLING HOUSES, REINFORCED CONCRETE SKELETON STRUCTURES, PREFABRICATED STRUCTURES, ETC.) AND DIFFERENT EXCITATION PROCESSES (EXPLOSIVE, TRAFFIC, MACHINERY VIBRATION, EFFECT OF EXPLOSIONS). THE PROJECT IS DESIGNED PARTICULARLY FOR SUBJECT PROTECTION WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF BUILDING CATASTROPHE PREVENTION AND IS USED FOR THE WORKING OUT OF BETTER ASSESSMENT CRITERIA.
