THE PROJECT IS A CONTINUATION OF IRRD PROJECT NO. 700726. IN THE FIRST STAGE THE ROTATION PROPERTIES OF PLASTIC HINGES IN STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS SUBJECTED TO BENDING STRESS AND LONGITUDINAL COMPRESSION STRESS ARE TO BE DETERMINED EXPERIMENTALLY AND MATHEMATICALLY. IN THE SECOND STAGE IT IS PLANNED TO COMPARE THE ROTATION PROPERTIES OF INDIVIDUAL STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS, AND TO DETERMINE THE ROTATION NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE AN ARTICULATED CHAIN IN A STRUCTURE. THIS WILL SHOW WHETHER THE ROTATION PROPERTIES DETERMINED ARE SUFFICIENT OR NOT TO BRING ABOUT A REDISTRIBUTION OF INTERNAL FORCES SUFFICIENT TO ACHIEVE THE FULL PLASTIC LIMIT BEARING CAPACITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLASTIC HINGE THEORY.
