AFTER THE COMPLETION OF SECTIONS I AND II OF THE RESEARCH PROJECT IT APPEARED NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT SYSTEMATIC TESTS OF THE RESISTANCE OF PRESTRESSING STEELS TO STRESS CORROSION AT HIGH PH VALUES. THESE TESTS AIM TO CLARIFY WHETHER AND TO WHAT EXTENT PRESTRESSING STEEL ELEMENTS OTHER THAN THOSE TESTED SO FAR ARE SUBJECT TO DAMAGE OF THE SAME TYPE. IT IS INTENDED TO CONDUCT FATIGUE TESTS ON PRESTRESSING STEEL ELEMENTS IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS WITH HIGH PH VALUES. THE TESTS WILL CONCENTRATE ON THE MOST IMPORTANT QUALITIES OF HEAT-TREATED AND COLD-DRAWN PRESTRESSING STEEL WIRES. THE DAMAGE IS CAUSED BY THE LENGTH OF THE FATIGUE AND/OR THE DYNAMIC STRENGTH OF THE SAMPLES.
