ANALYSIS OF THE PROBABILITIES OF RESULTS OF TESTS ON "CIETAN" BEAMS

ANALISIS PROBABILISTICO DE RESULTADOS DE ENSAYO DE VIGUETAS "CIETAN"

STRUCTURAL SAFETY ANALYSIS IS APPLIED TO THE PRODUCTION OF PRECAST PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS MANUFACTURED BY THE ENTERPRISES GROUPED IN THE "CIETAN" COMMITTEE. A PROBABILISTIC ANALYSIS OF TEST RESULTS IS CONDUCTED AND PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS ARE OBTAINED FOR THE FOLLOWING RELATIONS: (1) MAXIMUM BENDING MOMENT FOR LOADS APPLIED AT THE BEGINNING OF FAILURE/BENDING MOMENT FOR USE UTILIZED BY THE MANUFACTURER; (2) MAXIMUM BENDING MOMENT WHEN INITIAL CRACKING OCCURS/BENDING MOMENT FOR USE. ONCE THE TYPES OF FUNCTION, TO WHICH THE LOWER DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION VALUES CAN BE ASSIMILATED, HAVE BEEN DETERMINED FOR THE SAMPLE, A CALCULATION IS MADE OF THE PROBABILITY OF FAILURE AND CRACKING OF ALL THE BEAMS TESTED WHICH FORM A SAMPLE OF THE NATIONAL PRODUCTION. THE KNOWLEDGE OF THESE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS AND FAILURE AND CRACKING PROBABILITY FUNCTIONS ENABLES CONTROL REGULATIONS EMPIRICALLY DETERMINED TO BE DEFINED FOR OBTAINING THE "CIETAN" LABEL OF AGREEMENT.
