THE CORD IN A MOVING TIRE IS SUBJECTED TO MANY REPEATED REGULAR DEFORMATIONS, INVOLVING TENSION AND COMPRESSION, WHOSE MAGNITUDE DEPEND UPON THE TYPE OF TIRE AND THE CONDITIONS OF ITS USE, AND DIFFER IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE TIRE.
