THE AUTHOR OUTLINES THE CHARACTERISTICS AND HISTORY OF SOIL-CEMENT AND ITS APPLICATION TO SECONDARY ROADS. THE BASIC PRINCIPLES TO FOLLOW IN THE PREPARATION OF SOIL-CEMENT ARE MENTIONED: OPTIMUM WATER CONTENT, EVEN COMPACTION AT MAXIMUM DENSITY, ADDITION OF THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF CEMENT. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE TESTS REQUIRED FOR THE SOIL-CEMENT AND FOR ITS INGREDIENTS IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE CEMENT CONTENT. THIS INFLUENCE OF THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS ON THE QUALITY OF SOIL-CEMENT IS STUDIED, AND GRAPHS AND TABLES EXPLAIN THE INFLUENCE OF THE DIFFERENT PHASES OF THE MIXTURE.
