PROPIEDADES MECANICAS DE LAS MEZCLAS BITUMINOSAS Y SUS MATERIALES (TERCERA PARTE)

THIS ARTICLE REVIEWS THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEST FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE RESISTANCE OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES TO PLASTIC DEFORMATIONS. THE TESTS CAN BE CLASSIFIED INTO TWO MAIN GROUPS: CONVENTIONAL TESTS AND NEW TESTS. AMONG THE FORMER ARE THE FOLLOWING: MARSHALL TEST, LCPC OR AURIEZ TEST AND THE INDENTATION TEST. THE NEW TESTS ARE NUMEROUS AND COMPRISE SINGLE LOAD AND REPETITIVE LOAD TESTS. METHODS OF IMPROVING THE RESISTANCE OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES TO PLASTIC DEFORMATIONS ARE DESCRIBED; THESE METHODS ARE BASED ON THE EXPERIENCE GAINED ON EXPERIMENTAL ROADS AND ON REAL ROADS. PRESENT BITUMINOUS MIXTURES ARE REVIEWED TOGETHER WITH THEIR PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS.
