PVC TAR

ALQUITRAN PVC

THE POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) TAR MIXTURE PROVIDES A BINDER WHICH DIFFERS FROM TAR ON THE FOLLOWING POINTS: RATE OF AGEING AND THERMAL SUSCEPTIBILITY ARE REDUCED, WHILE THERE IS AN INCREASE IN RESISTANCE TO FUELS, COHESION, VISCOSITY, ADHESION, DUCTILITY AND ADHESION TO ALL TYPES OF AGGREGATES. A TECHNICAL EXPLANATION IS PRESENTED OF THESE IMPROVEMENTS. AMONGST THE MOST COMMON USES OF SUCH BINDERS ARE MIXES FOR AIRPORT RUNWAYS, SECTIONS OF HIGHWAY WITH SLOW TRAFFIC, PARKING AREAS AND ANTI-FUEL COATINGS. THE PROCESS FOR THE ADDITION OF PVC TO THE MIXTURE AND THE PRACTICAL PROBLEMS ARISING FROM PREMATURE HARDENING ARE DESCRIBED. DATA REGARDING MIXES USED ON AIRPORT RUNWAYS ARE REPORTED.
