THE GENERAL MANUEL BELGRANO BRIDGE, LINKING MESOPOTAMIA WITH THE REMAINDER OF THE COUNTRY, IS NOW OPEN TO TRAFFIC. FROM ITS CHARACTERISTICS, IT IS UNIQUE OF ITS KIND. THE TOTAL COST OF THE WORKS IS ABOUT 180 MILLION PESOS. TOTAL BRIDGE LENGTH IS 1667 M. IT IS A SUSPENSION BRIDGE FORMED OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE. THE EVOLUTION OF THE PROJECT IS DESCRIBED, INFORMATION ON THE QUALITY, QUANTITY AND VALUE OF MATERIALS USED IS GIVEN, TOGETHER WITH THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WORKS AND CONSTRUCTION DETAILS OF THE DIFFERENT PARTS: VIADUCTS AND ACCESS WORKS ON THE CHACO SIDE, THE SUSPENDED BRIDGE, AND VIADUCTS AND ACCESS WORKS ON THE CORRIENTES SIDE.
