THE DIVERSION AT PERRAY-EN-YVELINES ON THE ROUTE NATIONALE 10, DDE YVELINES

LA DEVIATION DU PERRAY-EN-YVELINES SUR LA RN 10

THIS ARTICLE SHOWS HOW THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC ON THE ROUTE NATIONALE 10 IN THE YVELINES DEPARTMENT LED TO THE NECESSITY OF CONSTRUCTING A DIVERSION AROUND THIS SMALL COMMUNITY BUILT ALONG THIS HIGHWAY. THIS DIVERSION, WHICH IS 5800 M IN LENGTH, HAS THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A MOTORWAY (TWO CARRIAGEWAYS OF 7 M SEPARATED BY A CENTRAL RESERVE OF 6 M), REQUIRED THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIX BRIDGES: THREE UNDERPASSES AND THREE OVERPASSES IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY LINKS IN COMPLETE SAFETY. THE BRIDGES ARE OF MOTORWAY STANDARD. THE ARTICLE ALSO GIVES THE PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BRIDGES AS WELL AS OF THE PAVEMENT STRUCTURE AND THE DIFFICULTIES ARISING IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND THE LAYOUT ENVISAGED FOR THE RURAL LANDSCAPING IN ORDER TO ENSURE COMPATABILITY WITH THE EXISTING SURROUNDINGS. THIS DIVERSION OF THE ROUTE NATIONALE (MAIN ROAD) CAN BE CONSIDERED AS A TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF DOZENS OF DIVERSIONS AROUND BUILT UP AREAS WHICH ARE BEING CONSTRUCTED IN FRANCE.
