ESSAI SUR MODELE REDUIT EN POUSSEE : ETUDE DU COMPORTEMENT D'UNE STRUCTURE EN BETON ARME AVANT LA RUPTURE PAR DES TECHNIQUES D'EMISSION ACOUSTIQUE ET D'EXTENSOMETRIE

A SMALL SCALE MODEL WAS DESIGNED IN THE SHAPE OF A BASIN WITH METAL SIDES. ONE OF THE SIDES CONSISTED OF A MICRO REINFORCED CONCRETE PANEL. THE INTERIOR WAS FILLED WITH FONTAINEBLEAU SAND. STRESS WAS APPLIED THROUGH PLATES FOLLOWING THE AXIS PERPENDICULAR TO THE WALL. LOAD DISTRIBUTION WAS NOT UNIFORM. A STUDY WAS MADE OF: THE CRACKLING SOUND EMITTED BY THE SAND; RELATIONS BETWEEN CONCRETE MICRO NOISES AND DEFORMATIONS; WALL FISSURATION ZONES; LOCALIZATION OF THE ORIGIN OF CRACKS; PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS IN THE STRUCTURAL FIELD.
