THE RELATIONSHIP OF EYE MOVEMENTS AND PERCEPTUAL CAPABILITIES TO VISUAL INFORMATION ACQUISITION IN AUTOMOBILE DRIVING

THE AIM OF THE STUDY IS TO INCREASE THE KNOWLEDGE ON THE VISUAL DATA ACQUISITION BEHAVIOUR OF DRIVERS BY INVESTIGATING EYE MOVEMENTS. THIS AIM IS TWOFOLD: (1) EFFECTS OF THE DIFFERENT DRIVING OBJECTIVES ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF DRIVERS AS REGARDS VISUAL DATA ACQUISITION; (2) ROLE OF DIRECT AND INDIRECT VISION ON VISUAL DATA ACQUISITION AND ITS EFFECT ON DRIVING ON AN EMPTY ROAD OR WHEN FOLLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE.
